I work with people to find their authentic identity. We have all said ‘who on earth am I?’ at some stage in life.

It is a natural stocktaking process that occurs during stages of life, however, when there is trauma such as childhood or relationship abuse, where you have been constantly ‘TOLD’ what you are, the process becomes neigh on impossible and we just can’t do it on our own.

Bereavement in particular can be a massive trigger as we grieve for the part of our identity that is connected to each loss. It could be the loss of a loved one or pet.
These times of Personal change such as major operation, gender change or trauma. It is also part of any relationship separation, redundancy, loss of home or security.
Sometimes even when nice changes like moving house, having new life in the family and getting married for example can make us confused and uncomfortable because we don’t know WHO we are now let alone how we CAN be when a new thing is expected of us.

Finding perspective and finding out who you are now, allows the future to evolve without being stunted by the past.
Finding the authentic you underneath the stuff that has no business holding you back, is the best we can do not just for ourselves but for those around us. After all how many times have we heard. ‘Just be yourself!’
